April 2021 Newsletter

Thank you to everyone that participated in Community Clean Up Day! We appreciate the students, volunteers and community and project leaders that worked together to build a better Broadus.  Look for pictures on our Facebook page to see some of the projects!

We’re eagerly awaiting our first 2021 social event - Kentucky Derby Day - taking place on Saturday, May 1st and it’s looking like it will be a beautiful day for some family fun! Starting at 10am, Broadus Bumblebee Daycare is hosting Derby Days Kids Power Wheels Races at the Sagebrush field (behind Copps Hardware).  Check out their Facebook page for more details.  In the afternoon, join us at Rolling Hills Golf Course for the Derby Luncheon from 1-3pm for a delicious derby inspired menu for $12 a plate.  Enjoy clubhouse drink specials on the deck or patio while we play games and activities.  Don’t forget to dress to impress – you might take home the win for best hat or one of our other great categories!  Race fans will want to arrive by 3:30pm to get in on the Calcutta action when we auction off the horses.  Win big or just cheer on your favorite as we watch the most exciting two minutes in horse racing!  Check out our attached flyer or our Facebook event page and we’ll see you on Derby Day!!

May is National Beef Month and we want to take the opportunity to recognize our local cattle ranchers.  Thank you for your support of our community and for your role in feeding our nation.  Special thanks to Open 8 Genetics, Gnerer Angus and Emmons Ranch for supporting our organization through your memberships.

Our next General Membership Meeting is coming up on Thursday, May 6th.  Everyone is welcome to join us at 6pm at the office of Gardner & Billing CPAs for more information on upcoming Chamber activities.
