January 2021 Newsletter

Welcome to 2021 –

2020 was filled with challenges, and although 2021 may not be the fresh start you were hoping for, we still have some positive experiences to share this month.

Starting in 2021, we’re delighted to welcome Megan Smith as part of our Chamber Board! Having moved to the area in 2014, she married Broadus native Justin Smith in 2018.  Megan expressed a desire to become involved with a positive group focused on making changes on a local level and she brings her passion for ranching and knowledge of agricultural business to our board.  We couldn’t be happier to welcome her!

If you’re interested in what we do, this is a great time to get involved and join our Chamber board, as we’re unveiling a new meeting structure for the coming year.  We’re shifting our focus from planning to ACTION for 2021.  We will continue to have our quarterly business General Membership Meetings on the first Thursday of February, May, August and November, but the other monthly meetings will feature either a Community Service Event, focusing on accomplishing a specific project, or a Positive Partnership Gathering, aimed at fostering knowledge, connection and growth between local organizations.  Watch for our Positive Partnership Interviews in upcoming Powder River Examiner editions.

If the Chamber board feels like too much of a commitment, we encourage you to support us by joining or renewing as a member.  Membership benefits include amazing advertising opportunities, including Facebook post sharing, website and Google Maps presence, tourism website profile listings and advertising blocks on the courthouse square digital sign. Plus, Chamber membership isn’t just for retail businesses – we appreciate the support of service, agriculture and at-home businesses, as well as individual community members committed to helping us in our mission of building a better Broadus.  Download the membership application on our website (PRChamberofComm.com) or contact a Chamber board member for details.
